a post-pandemic reflection on A Place Like Home at The People's Museum.
Year: 2022
Location: LIMERICK CITY
DIRECTOR: SAMAR NEZAMABAD.
The People Museum hosts the return of in person art featuring a selection of third year artists from LSAD. Directed by Painting students Samar Nezamabad and James Skerritt, A Place Like Home is a multidisciplinary exhibition showcasing over twenty Year 3 students of Limerick School of Art and Design. Emerging artists studying painting, sculpture, and printmaking explore themes of home and environment in diverse fashions through a variety of mediums, surfaces, and materials. On display are feelings of displacement caused by moving and isolating during a pandemic, and efforts to find or create a place to call home amidst the uncertainty of daily life. The artwork is explorative and experimental, as the student artists define their practice and find their place within the artworld.
