Sinéad Gaughran is an emerging Visual Artist based in Ireland. Since completing a BA in Painting at Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD), she has developed and is pursuing an interest in curatorial practice.
Born and raised in Ireland, Sinéad spent most of her childhood between North Co. Dublin and Camp, Tralee, Co. Kerry. Now she lives and practices in Limerick City. Much of her work derives great inspiration from Irish heritage and landscape. However her passions do go beyond this into areas of the body and physical life experience and impressions. Exploring the human form and frame of the body. Through her paintings she attempt to express and combine such topics often with a veil of abstraction.
Sinéad's curatorial interests have thus far culminated through roles as Director and Co-Curator of the SpaceCraft Studios Exhibition Advance in December 2022 and as Event Director and Curator of the Hunt Museum Café Exhibition Emerging Artists at The Hunt in November 2022. In the former, taking charge of the entire event, from its inception to its successful execution, showcasing the talents of fourth-year graduates from LSAD. In the Hunt Museum Café Exhibition, displaying the ability to seamlessly integrate art into public spaces by pitching a concept and ensuring minimal disruption to visitors. Sinéad has also assisted as co-curation in The Urban Co-Op Exhibition Taking Root in March 2023, LSAD Exhibition Society Exhibition in March 2023 and holding a lead role in the preparation and display organization of the LSAD Graduate show Let It Enfold You in June 2023.
